It's a picture book about a Puerto Rican family — Jariel, Roselyn, and their father — who learn what it means to own a home after they find out their rent is going up. Along the way the story introduces saving, renting, mortgages, community, and building something that lasts for the next generation.

Roughly ages 6 to 12. Younger children enjoy it read aloud; older elementary students can read it independently and discuss the ideas. Teachers have found it works well as a starting point for a class conversation rather than a solo read.

Yes. There are two full editions, not a bilingual side-by-side. Each edition is written to read naturally in its own language, so a child reads a story rather than a translation. Sponsors can choose how their books are split between the two.

Schools, libraries, and community organizations request books directly through the request form on this site. We work through requests in the order they arrive while trying to spread deliveries across municipalities. Every placement requires the school's own approval before books are shipped.

You can name one right after checkout and we'll do our best. It isn't a guarantee — the school has to accept the donation, the books have to be in stock, and shipping has to be workable. If we can't place your books where you asked, we'll tell you before they go somewhere else.

Yes, and it's one of the most effective ways to reach a full school. Businesses can sponsor at any level, add their logo and link at the Legacy Partner level, and build a custom partnership for more than 250 books or multiple schools.

Yes. At any level you can dedicate the sponsorship in honor of a person, a family, a business, or an organization. The dedication can appear on the supporter wall and on your certificate.

Always. Choose the anonymous option right after checkout and your name will not appear anywhere public. Nothing about a sponsor is published without explicit permission.

Yes. Every sponsor receives an impact update once the books are placed. Community Builder and Legacy Partner sponsors receive a fuller follow-up summary with photos where the school has given permission. When permission isn't given, you still get written confirmation — we just won't have images.

Yes, and we'd rather hear from you than guess. Teachers, librarians, principals, nonprofits, and youth programs can all submit a request. Submitting doesn't guarantee immediate fulfillment — it depends on available sponsorships and inventory — but we respond either way.

No — and we'd rather say so plainly. Seguimos Aquí is published and distributed by a Puerto Rico LLC, not a nonprofit or a registered charity. A sponsorship is a commercial purchase of books that are then donated to schools; it is not a charitable contribution and is not deductible as one. A business sponsoring for marketing or community-relations reasons may be able to treat the cost as an ordinary business expense, but that depends entirely on your own situation. Sponsorships are non-refundable. The moment you sponsor, those funds are committed to printing, shipping, and placing books. What we do commit to is fulfilment: if the school you named can't accept the books, can't be reached, or declines, we place your books with another Puerto Rican elementary school and tell you where they went. Your sponsorship always ends in books in children's hands. In the rare case we cannot fulfil a sponsorship at all — for example if inventory in both languages runs out and cannot be reprinted — we'll contact you to agree either a deferral to the next print run or a refund of the unfulfilled portion. If a payment was duplicated or made in error, write to us within 14 days and we'll correct it.

Yes. Personal copies are available in English and Spanish through the book's retailer. Buying a copy for your own family is separate from sponsoring books for a school — both are welcome, and you can do either or both.

Yes. Anything above the Legacy Partner level is handled as a Custom Impact Partnership so the scope, recognition, and reporting can be built around what you're trying to accomplish — a municipality, a district, or a multi-year commitment.
